Description

The Associate Director, Software Engineering codes software applications based on business requirements. The Associate Director, Software Engineering requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).

Responsibilities

The Associate Director, Enterprise Monitoring Platform as a Service helps develop and execute an engineering strategy for enterprise logging and monitoring platforms required to support infrastructure, application and security monitoring requirements. This role reports to the director, helping define the Enterprise Monitoring Platform strategy to centralize logging architecture, minimize cost and maximize function of various Enterprise Monitoring platforms.

The AD:


Leads Enterprise Monitoring Platform Engineering supporting all enterprise-level logging and monitoring platforms in infrastructure, security and application monitoring
Researches technology options and makes necessary decision recommendations to resolve complex technology challenges in Enterprise Monitoring Platform as a Service and in a product model
Be responsible for supporting the strategy, roadmap, and architecture of Enterprise Monitoring Platforms Engineering
Standardizes the development and engineering of Enterprise Monitoring platform standards and metrics
Works regularly with platform vendors and assists leadership on vendor negotiations optimizing cost of platforms
Demonstrates a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).
Makes decision recommendations related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems
Leads multiple managers or highly specialized professional associates in Enterprise Monitoring
Possesses strong technical depth and understanding of Tools/Technology capabilities and how they fit in the Humana context
Deep technical experience in monitoring of Applications/Systems on a cloud infrastructure
Strong familiarity with Agile Product Model principles
Develop and grow strong partnership with stakeholder teams in Application, Infra and Security Monitoring Operations in gathering requirements, centralizing EM platform engineering and support enterprise monitoring in a product model
Ensures compliance to IT Service Management and Operations standards
Supports critical initiatives such as Always on, AIOps and Observability
Manages the metric development to mature Enterprise Monitoring Capabilities


Key Responsibilities:


Work to align advanced technologies and Enterprise Monitoring best practices in the various stages of platform engineering to ensure that the requirements of Infra/Apps/Security monitoring operational needs are delivered in a centralized, optimized and timely manner
Manage a team of managers/senior engineers to engineer Enterprise Monitoring Platforms
Manage a team to deliver Software Engineering, Data Analytics, and Cyber Security requirements in Enterprise Monitoring Platforms in a highly matrixed organization
Ability to effectively work with, develop relationships, and collaborate across stakeholders
Backend development experience with a solid foundation in observability pipelines, distributed systems, or large-scale data processing
Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, in particular in leading or contributing to multi-functional teams.


Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree
6 or more years of technical experience
2 or more years of management experience
Broad understanding of Information Technology solutions including technologies, platforms, applications and capabilities
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving customer experiences
Experience designing and administrating enterprise monitoring in one or more of the following platforms: Splunk, Azure, Dynatrace, GCP, AWS, Salesforce, Oracle


Preferred Qualifications


Master's Degree in a technical discipline
Agile Certification
