Description
The Associate Director, Systems Engineering is responsible for the research, design, and certification of enterprise compute platforms through a strong discipline of engineering and programming techniques. The Associate Director, Systems Engineering requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).
Responsibilities
The Associate Director, Systems Engineering is responsible for owning and advancing compute products for our IT enterprise. This role will set the product engineering roadmaps for Server OS, AIX, and on-premise Kubernetes. This role will lead teams of architects and engineers to certify these products and publish standards to the larger IT organization. As part of this role, you will meet with customers, vendors and other IT partners to produce the best possible compute products at the best price. Producing speed to value for your customers will be one of the key metrics.
Required Qualifications
6 or more years of Systems Engineer experience in design, analysis, configuration, and maintenance of complex systems software solutions, based on a thorough knowledge of systems engineering and programming concepts and techniques
2 or more years of management experience
Highly Experienced in Systems software engineering/programming is a specialized area of software engineering/programming focused on software that operates/controls computer hardware and provides a platform for running end-user applications.
Comprehensive expertise Includes operating systems, device drivers, utilities, and software; development tools (Ex.. IaC, CI/CD, etc).
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Experience with Vmware, AIX, Windows, Linux, Terraform, Ansible
Cloud provider experience in Azure, GCP or AWS
Experience leading a Kubernetes environment
Ability to work in an Agile methodology

Work-At-Home Requirements
WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
