Medtronics Mechanical Circulatory Support group is looking for a motivated engineer to work in a system engineering role for released product engineering. The position responsibilities will include system definition, verification and validation for MCS products, CAPA ownership and leadership of CAPA teams through investigation and action phases. Driving CAPA investigations using critical thinking skills.
This position can either be in Mounds View, MN or Miami Lakes, FL. Preferance will be given to those in Mounds View, MN.

**A Day in the Life**
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Deliver on quality or CAPA initiatives using specialized knowledge and critical thinking skills.
Manage major/moderately complex features within a project or CAPA; involving delegation of work and review of work products, at times acting as a team leader.
Plan, schedule, manage system design activities for remediation projects or programs.
Lead, coordinate, execute, and document system analysis and design activities including but not limited to architecture definition, interface management, and system integration, etc.
Verify system requirements have been properly implemented (writing, leveling, tracing) through inspection, demonstration, test or analysis.
Validate that implemented systems meet customer need
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area.
Establish and advocate for best practices and continuous improvement as to mature the sustaining engineering group via knowledge and processes
Be an advocate for high quality engineering.
Champion consistent implementation of the Quality System across projects
Represent the organization as a primary contact for specific projects and initiatives; communicates with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels. May negotiate with others to reach understanding or agreement, and influence decision-making.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
**Nice to Have**
5 years of experience in industry with a graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Systems engineering
Understanding of combined hardware, software system architecture, demonstrated by either coursework or work in industry
Experience describing systems requirements, requirement tracing to subsystems and interface requirements
Experience developing Verification and Validation strategy
Experience performing Verification and Validation testing
CAPA Process, Investigation, Critical Thinking.
Mechanical Engineering skills preferred.
Experience with systems engineering principles, including requirement analysis and allocation, architecture, verification, and validation.
Demonstrated domain knowledge and understands applications to assigned projects.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement by studying and applying technical advances in area of expertise
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others on cross-functional teams
Understanding of system architecture for products involving hardware, software, communication and mechanical components
Experience with Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure products
Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma or related product development processes
