Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a **Staff ASIC PM&P Engineer** . This position will be located in **Roy, UT** and will support the **GBSD** program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
**What you'll get to do** :
A Materials and Process Engineer analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes. Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
The GBSD Parts, Material, and Process (PM&P) Engineer will primarily support (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) ASIC development activities on the program, address problems related to ASIC design and manufacturing, and support EEE piece part selection and qualification activities.
Responsibilities may include:
Support Electrical Engineers and ASIC manufacturers on design, development, and production of ASICs
Develop and execute qualification plans for ASICs or Microcircuits
Developing specifications and qualification plans for EEE piece parts
Interact with subcontractors as part of Parts, Materials, and Process surveillance activities

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

**Youll Bring These Qualifications** :
14 years of experience with a BS Degree, or 12 years of experience with a Master's, or 9 years of experience with a PhD in Material Science, Materials Engineering, or Chemical Engineering, or closely related technical discipline
Experience with qualification of military or space grade EEE parts
Experience with testing and Destructive Physical Analysis of military or space grade EEE parts
Experience leading technical teams in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment
Active Secret clearance with investigation in the last 6 years
**These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:**
Masters or PhD is preferred in Material Science, OR Materials Engineering, OR Chemical Engineering, or closely related technical discipline.
Experience with Design and Manufacturing of ASICs or Microcircuits compliant to MIL-PRF-38535 Class S and/or B.
Experience in EEE Part selection for missiles or space environments and fabrication problem solving experience
Experience with EEE part selection and testing
Strategic Electronic parts Program Experience
Practical working experience supporting integration and test (I&T) activities for missile systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills of the English language is desired
Active Top Secret clearance is preferred
Salary Range: $122,200.00 - $183,200.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
