Our Digital Health & Analytics (DH&A) team is building a world class Data Science and Insights enterprise capability that leverages digital-first platforms, analytics, and agile development methodologies. Through the strategic interpretation of data, we provide our consumers - physicians, patients, and other members of the care team - with meaningful insights about the choices they make and help them lead their best lives. As a Software Engineer 2 at Humana you will contribute to meaningful projects, interact with other team members, be exposed to DH&A's business operations and work cross functionally with other departments.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
*Contribute to the development of cloud native, next generation clinical rule engine.
*Build and deploy data pipelines to Azure Cloud.
*Build and deploy UI tools for rule authoring and value set management.
*Understand and build upon the functionality requirements from clinical rule authors and other stakeholders.
*Explore and become an expert on the claim data consumed by the engine.
*Gain deep understanding of different types of clinical rules and complexity of clinical quality measures to develop data models with both flexibility and efficiency
*Explore options and build POC to scale the engine on Azure.
*Review peers' feedback and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues.
*Advocating for best practices.
*Work closely with product, data platform and solution delivery teams.
For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home. We are a healthcare company committed to putting health and safety first for our members, patients, associates, and the communities we serve.
If progressed to offer, you will be required to:
Provide proof of full vaccination OR
Commit to weekly testing, following all CDC protocols, OR
Provide documentation for a medical or religious exemption consideration.
This policy will not supersede state or local laws. Requests for these exemptions should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to your scheduled first day of work.
Required Qualifications
*Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
*2 years of experience in software development
2 years of experience in an object-oriented language such as Java, Scala
Experience in using spark for big data processing
*Experience in cloud technologies and distributed computing
*Expertise in building secure, scalable, enterprise systems
*Experience with SQL and relational database
*Experience working in an agile environment
*Good understanding of software development and testing life cycles.
*Experience in CI/CD using Azure DevOps or similar tools
*Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
*Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
*Experience in healthcare IT environment is preferred.
*Background in Azure cloud services
*Experience in web technologies: JavaScript, HTML, CSS
*Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
