Job Description:
The chemical sector supports the Energy and circular Transition through many applications that help save energy via their insulating or light-weight properties. At the same time, Chemicals is a sector since it faces its own energy transition and other, highly interlinked, sustainability challenges: climate change (zero emission), plastic issue (zero waste), keep hydrocarbons underground (zero fossil).
Shell, a key player and operator in the chemical sector, has a unique role and can potentially profitably address the above three challenges.
We need to work with our customers to achieve this. Our customers in the Chemicals sector also face this challenge and there is a clear opportunity for us to widen our proposition to our customers to help them decarbonize and to meet their customer’s needs of circular or renewable based products.
If you are passionate about customers, especially large industrial, FMCG or light industry companies, and want to contribute to the energy transition, this is a pivotal role at the forefront of helping customers to reach their decarbonization goals and bringing value to the Shell Group. In doing so, you will also support achieving Chemicals and Products own sustainability goals.
Where you fit in
Reporting to the Sustainability Programme Manager, you will join a global sector chemicals sector team that is building and orchestrating the strategic agenda of Shell and our current and future largest chemical customers. You will support a diverse group of enterprise account managers in and externally to bring the best of Shell to these accounts and drive decarbonisation and you will a key interface between the Chemicals Sector and the other Sectors/LOBs in Shell.
What’s the role?
This includes
Interface with other Sectors in Shell to support building cross Sector CVPs Driving the funnel of opportunities [2022 target to develop opportunities of >2Mln Tonnes of C02 and there is funnel of cross LOB growth of >$500Mln). Analysis and development of CVPs for the Enterprise se accounts, preparing calls and supporting cross sector business teams to deliver on the short-term agenda in line with these strategic goals and agreed workstreams agreed with the senior sponsors (EVP level) with these accounts.
Exercising strong commerciality, the role will also help to prepare internal recommendations and documentations for progressing of partnerships and deals. The role will be responsible for making sure the funnels are accurate and up to date and occasionally supporting deal closure and implementation by working with counterparts in the customers’ organisations.
What we need from you
The integrator will have or be able to quickly develop a deep commercial understanding of the chemicals sectors, clean energy solutions, industry trends, competitor offerings and the customers’ business. The successful candidate will in addition have or build internal alliances across multiple geographies and lines of business (chemicals & products, onshore and offshore renewables, Hydrogen, Fuels, Trading etc.). Other responsibilities will include prioritising prospects on the opportunity funnel (SPANCOP) and preparation of management updates. The role has a global remit supporting multiple key accounts in the chemicals sector, that works intimately with other R&ES sectors, such as light industry sector. No direct reports.
Furthermore, you will have:
A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering or similar fields with high numeracy. Experience as a commercial/business integrator is a plus.
Proven experience in preparing accurate management information, often on short notice
Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in writing and when presenting. Experience of drafting papers for Decision Review Boards (DRBs), management updates, slide-decks.
The ability to accommodate requests to work across multiple time zones and periods of intense activity.
A highly self-motivated and enthusiastic attitude about contributing to a cleaner energy future completed with a keen interest in learning and personal development, demonstrated through curiosity, keeping abreast market developments and receptiveness to coaching feedback.
Strong project management skills and a structured way of working. Comfortable operating in a semi-structured environment without formal authority.
Excited about working collaboratively with other people and comfortable to reach out across organizational boundaries in building enduring relationships.
Proficiency in working with and analysing large datasets to distil information into meaningful insights/ snippets that can be used with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of the Shell Opportunity Realisation Standard (ORS), Salesforce
