Description:
We have an exciting opening on our team for a Software Engineering Lead for RHEL Transition in support of the AEHF/Milstar COOLR program in Colorado Springs, CO. Responsibilities include:
The Software Engineering Lead for RHEL Transition is responsible for the technical oversight of the sustainment and development of the MOPS software products. The selected candidate will work closely with the system engineering core team members in coordinating the internal MOPS Team plans, milestones and schedules.
•Primary POC: The RHEL SW Lead is the primary technical point of contact with our internal and external customers.
•Accountability: COOLR PM, SWDB Engineering Manager
•High Level Summary/Overview of Role & Responsibilities:
Primary POC for MOPS/ASMCS Task Orders (TO) and Delivery Orders (DO) proposals
Provide technical guidance and support to MOPS SW teams
Coordinate team planning and execution
Coordinate TIMs on design or implementation issues as required
Provide/coordinate updates to MMT and MCS documentation
Support the community meetings as required
Primary interface between SEIT & VF MCS and MMT on any MOPS related issues or activities
Provide metric data inputs as required
Provide technical input to BCB, CRTIM, and ASDB WG regarding ASMCS impacts
Represent sustainment and development teams (or delegate) at MERB as required
Ensure development test plans and procedures, for development task orders, cover all of the requirements and functional capability.
Coordinate ASDB database changes going into MPSS and MPSS database structure changes coming to MMT
Participate in MERB Peer Reviews as required
Basic Qualifications:
Strong Software development and software project leadership experience
Software estimation experience
Software technical leadership experience
Strong coordination, communication and problem solving skills - Task closure mindset
Working experience with Agile Methodologies
Strong systems engineering background and can understand new requirements and how they apply to an existing system
Desired Skills:
Strong team player
Military Satellite Communication experience
Algorithm development
Software technical review boards
