Profile
Mobile App Developer for AR/VR Project
We are looking to expand on an R&D project with an iOS (now iPadOS) application which can use the LiDAR camera on the new iPad Pro models to capture, measure, and render realistic models of rooms and furniture. The basic concept is contained in the first 5:25 minutes of the demo video on Apples website: [login to view URL]
This app should be able to accurately measure rooms, and simple objects such as beds, desks chairs, sofas, etc. Getting accurate ( ~ 3 cm accuracy from 1-5 meters) measurements of corners and being able to generate 3D models and floor-plans of these measurements is key to our project.
If this proof-of-concept app is successful, we will likely have follow-on tasks to add features, implement changes and integrate the app with a web app or other workflow to allow end users to manipulate models generated by the app. Other developers may be asked to integrate this app with their tasks, so good communication and the ability to work within a team are also important.
The successful candidate will include experience with ARKit, be able to document well and communicate clearly. They should develop using the principles of continuous integration and delivery, understand best practices for iOS / iPadOS development (such as ios-factor), familiarity with testing and integration platforms like Appium and issue tracking via GitHub or similar platform.
Interviews for this position will be held via videoconference. In addition, once the project is underway we will hold regular meetings via videoconference to discuss development progress, discuss any issues or decisions that need to be made, and outline next steps.
