Profile

To help us scale up to deliver our award-winning actuarial and financial modelling software platform to our growing customer base, we are looking for a DevOps engineer who can be responsible for automating the creation of both our development/QA infrastructure as well as the production environments that we supply to our customers, all the while striving to balance agility with security. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with PowerShell or Python and will work with our developers to accelerate the development value stream - from the code first being committed to it being deployed in production – without sacrificing quality or security. The DevOps engineer will also help plan projects and be involved in project management decisions.  Objectives of this roleBuilding and implementing new development tools and infrastructureWorking on ways to automate and improve development, testing and release processesEnsuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threatsPlanning strategic DevOps initiatives and being a stakeholder in project management decisions ResponsibilitiesBuild tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experienceDevelop software to integrate with internal back-end systemsPerform root cause analysis of production errors and provide future mitigation of those errorsProvide visibility of release pipelines and deployment status Required skills and qualificationsExperience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering roleProficiency with Azure DevOpsExperience with Docker, Terraform, TeamCity.Experience of release management using Octopus DeployExperience of designing and implementing CI/CD pipelinesWorking knowledge of databases and SQLProblem-solving attitudeCollaborative team spirit Preferred skills and qualificationsExperience in DevOps engineering for a large companyExperience with Kubernetes. How we support our colleagues  In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
