Under Armour is seeking a full stack Lead Software Engineer to help architect and build fast, frictionless experiences across the globe as part of our growing Ecommerce Engineering team. The Lead Software Engineer will hold responsibility for front-end initiatives across multiple platforms focusing on UA’s Go To Market roadmap. The ideal candidate has a passion for collaboration with cross functional partners, can adapt to technology change and evolution, and is eager to find creative solutions to technical issues.

Our Lead Software Engineers are responsible for helping their teams continuously improve. You will spend a significant amount of time coaching other engineers and aiding the team in eliminating roadblocks. You will set best practices for architecture, coding, delivery, and operation of your team's services. In addition, you will build relationships with other teams to collaborate and lead the way in developing reusable, scalable designs that benefit the entire organization. You will partner with other engineering teams, product, design, infrastructure, and project management while serving as a mentor and advocate for your own team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Technically lead a group of engineers, providing architectural guidance, code reviews, and mentorship
Act as owner for setting standards and best practices to improve performance, availability and scalability based on both technical and business considerations
Develop high-quality software design and architecture with a focus on content management
Build and maintain efficient UI applications and components to support backend services integration with a variety of third-party systems
Document and maintain software functionality
Communicate clear execution plans to both technical teammates and non-technical business. partners
Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies


Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)


Expertise with modern web development - focus on modern frontend capabilities (React, Next.js, SCSS)
Ability to technically support hands on & guide work including frontend development, enhancing performance, tracking setup and strategies, A/B tests, SEO, accessibility, and efficient content delivery
Experience working in an agile environment
Ideal candidate has exposure to some of the following disciplines/practices:
Content Management Systems (ex: CoreMedia, Magnolia, Contentful, AEM)
A/B Testing (ex: Adobe Target, AB Tasty, Optimizely)
Working experience with GraphQL


PREFERRED


Nice to have, but not required: working experience with commerce platforms, experience with Core Web Vitals
Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot


Education And / Or Experience


BS in CS or equivalent experience
7 years of hands-on experience in a development environment.
Strong desire to learn and is quick to pick up new concepts
Passion for development and ability to dig into solving problems
