Job Description Capital, Portfolio, Sustainability, and Reliability Program Management
This role will be responsible for the capital, portfolio, sustainability, and reliability program management in Manufacturing and Clinical Supply (MCS) network by securing alignment on the strategic direction, accurately measuring our progress toward achieving it, and playing a lead role in streamlining and maturing project management process for MCS as well as defining & executing the sustainability and reliability roadmap for MCS. Key scope elements include, but are not limited to the following:
A) Lead MCS capital portfolio management of construction, global life cycle asset management, and departmental projects in the areas of DS, DP, SC/Warehouse, and QC Labs
B) Employ Business Analytics to assess performance and identify improvement opportunities
C) Mature PMO process throughout MCS
D) Lead Sustainability Program Management of Multi-faceted, Cross-functional, Network Initiative
E) Develop & Design Multi-Year Reliability roadmap and ensure its flawless execution with close collaboration/partnership with MCS and Network
F) Facilitate strategy and operational meetings
Further Clarification of Scope Elements:
A) Lead MCS capital portfolio management of construction, global life cycle asset management, and departmental projects in the areas of DS, DP, SC/Warehouse, and QC Labs:
-Establish project planning and management process for all MCS projects (DS, DP, SC/Warehouse, and QC Labs) to ensure standard project prioritization and resource loading as well as financial accountability and phase gate processes are in place and well understood by all parties across MCS.
-Roll out project management/planning process in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control & closing of projects.
- Collaborates with MCS leadership to set strategy and business objectives.
-Work closely with GFO on construction and global life cycle asset project management to ensure projects priority/capital alignment within MCS
- Facilitate MCS Governance project meetings at all levels
- Manage the entire MCS project portfolio in alignment with network priorities, optimize use of MCS resources, and ensure status is clearly defined and understood by all parties
-Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
B) Employ Business Analytics to assess performance and identify improvement opportunities for MCS:
- Establish balanced scorecard of strategic and operational key performance indicators (KPI) in line with industry best practices to monitor, trend and analyze capital/portfolio management performance, sustainability and reliability programs.
- Ensure action plans are established to address performance gaps or opportunities.
- Communicate gaps and establish the proper escalation process to the stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to optimize organizational efficiency.
C) Mature PMO process/culture throughout MCS:
- Develop and deliver business acumen series for project managers across MCS by rolling project management/planning tools such as standard project prioritization and resource utilization, building financial acumen to ensure financial accuracy, issue flagging process when changes to scope, time, resource, and budget occurs, and phase gate process to escalate issues and their timely resolution.
-Leverage training, coaching, and project/portfolio methodology expertise to build culture of continuous improvement and drive performance improvements.
-Accountable for driving continuous improvement and project/portfolio management maturity advancement of MCS network and processes by aligning roles and responsibilities, putting accountability measures in place, providing coaching/mentoring to PMs/sponsors, performing recurring maturity assessments of MCS capital/project portfolio management, and implementation of improvement plans.
-Fully integrate capital portfolio management processes to ensure inputs and outputs for all of our construction, lifecycle, and departmental projects are clearly understood and flawlessly executed.
D) Lead Sustainability Program Management of Multi-faceted, Cross-functional Network Initiative
- As a water sustainability lead for MCS, identify water conservation projects within the sustainability program in accordance with corporate programs and goals and develop the roadmap for MCS
- Ensure all projects identified are properly resourced and budgeted
- Measure progress on key deliverables and manage governance with MCS Leadership team
E) Develop & Design Multi-Year Reliability roadmap and ensure its flawless execution with close collaboration/partnership with MCS and Network
- Coach/Mentor/Direct as needed Reliability manager on the development and design of multi-year roadmap for TO MCS in accordance with corporate programs, other sites, and industry.
- Ensure all projects/initiatives identified are properly resourced and budgeted
- Measure progress on key deliverables and manage governance with MCS Leadership team
F) Facilitation of strategy and operational meetings:
- Facilitate MCS capital/portfolio management meetings for each client group within MCS, capture action items, distribute post meeting minutes, follow up with the action owners on the progress of their action, and escalate issues to MCS management when there is a change to scope, budget, resource, timing, and project deliverables to ensure adherence to workflow processes
- Provide capital/portfolio update as well as sustainability and reliability program updates to F&E SLT and MCS SLT on a set frequency
- Support MCS leadership on the development of presentation decks for internal stakeholders to provide progress update on capital/portfolio and sustainability management, reliability and sustainability programs.
