The IPTL leads and oversees related performance activities and drives key engineering decisions to meet project technical, schedule, and cost goals.Position Description:nSubsystem/domain technical authority; ensures product is developed in accordance with GDLS and customer engineering standards to achieve program requirementsnProvide direction and guidance to applicable stakeholders to deliver technical products and deliverables to support project milestonesnEnsure Lethality team products meet technical, cost, quality, and performance requirementsnManage Lethality IPT to deliver on technical scope within project constraints, and ensures customer expectations are metnSignature authority over related Lethality IPT scope, schedule, and budgetnResponsible for review and approval of related products / CDRLs / Milestone review contentnIndividual will have control account responsibility for Lethality AreasnLead Lethality IPT designs and test activities and makes trade/technical decisions in coordination with Project LeadershipnResponsible for execution and management of design release to Engineering Release Plan (ERP)nResponsible for related subcontractor performance and coordination for engineering tasksnLethality Lead for GDLS Leadership and Customers InterfacenCoordinate with functional departments on related technical resource needsnSupports negotiations of technical requirements, scope and deliverablesnIdentify potential risks and mitigation strategiesnPosition Requirements: nBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering degree with a minimum 12 years of applicable experiencenExperience in design, development and integration of lethality systems in military vehiclesnExperience in lethality products; large caliber weapons, ammo handling systems and fire control electronics experience preferrednHighly motivated performernWorks well in team and individuallynMust be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtimenStrong communication, interpersonal, and people skills is requirednIntegrated Master Schedule (IMS) and control account management experience is preferrednEarned Value Management Systems (EVMS) knowledge is requirednMust be able to obtain a U.S. security clearancenAbility to make decisions in a fast paced dynamic environmentnAbility to travel when needednWill require significant presence on GDLS campusnGeneral Dynamics is a successful Fortune 100, global aerospace and defense company, with over 90,000 employees world-wide.
