If you are a Mechanical Engineer, Sales Professional and have a background or interest in working with a large and diverse customer base as an Application Specialist, Emerson has an exciting growth opportunity for you, located at our Global Center of Excellence in Reno, Nevada.

AS AN APPLICATION SPECIALIST, YOU WILL:

Review and process multiple RFQs to determine customer application requirements and suitability of Emerson product offering to meet or exceed customer needs.

Utilize product and application knowledge of Emerson/Clarkson products and services to size and select the most suitable Knife Gate Valves and Automation Control Systems.

Employ professional and technical expertise to effectively problem solve and answer questions for products, service and pricing solutions; utilize Emerson resources to ensure accurate answers and timely responses.

Seek to build rapport and empower their customer base with value-added product knowledge and solutions.

Manage complexity and exercise judgement to help problem solve.

Work in a fast-paced, deadline- and team-oriented environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration (emphasis in Marketing)

Strong customer support skills; excellent verbal and written communication

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple competing priorities

Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office; MS Outlook and Excel in particular

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Prior experience in the Flow or Process Control industry, with knowledge of valve and actuation applications, and/or related knowledge of fluid mechanics and electro-mechanical equipment

SAP or Oracle-based ERP system experience
