If you are a Student interested in Safety looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Sidney, Ohio location, you will support our Safety culture by managing our Velocity Safety system for Plant 88.  You will collect data, organize, enter data into Velocity, audit, create and update Quality documents, develop charts and supporting data, present data to the Safety and Leadership Team and effectively communicate safety updates to personnel.  

 

AS A QUALITY/SAFETY CO-OP, YOU WILL: 

You will assist in all aspects of the Quality Engineering field and will work closely with the Quality Manager and Quality Engineer to resolve production quality issues or implement quality improvements

You will be responsible for daily run test fallout, statistically review the run data and make a determination on the disposition of the compressors that do not pass

You will assist in managing the plant documentation system by updating documents, sending the documents out for approval and implementing the new document revisions to the plant

You will be given plant quality improvement projects to lead and will be responsible for determining root cause, formulating improvements and implementing the project

You will work with the Design Engineers on implementing new compressor models and with the Procurement and Supplier Quality Groups to implement new suppliers or part changes

You will assist the plant Safety Engineer by performing safety audits, inputting the safety audit data into the safety database, implementing safety improvements and making and posting plant safety signage and placards

','!*!REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Undergraduate student currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

Sophomore or higher class status preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Good verbal and written communication skills

Self motivated and willing to work in a production environment and team with others to accomplish tasks

Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

Strongly prefer a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Previous experience in the quality field

Experience with various types of gages and gaging parts

Experience with Minitab or similar Quality/ Statistical software programs

Previous experience in a safety related field or role
