Asphalt Paving- Paving - Site work Construction
The Heavy Civil Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day construction site operations, be responsible for the completion of the project by planning, organizing and maintaining projects; completing quality inspections; and supervising sub-contractors and staff on time and within budget. Field work, company, company vehicle provided, individuals with diverse heavy civil project experience, Roadway, Highway, DOT, Commercial, Industrial, and Municipal experience desired.
Responsibilities
Meet with clients, owners, and general contractors to discuss specifications, project scheduling, contract documents and scope of work
Supervision and participation ensuring work meets contract specifications
The accurate take-off of quantities and the determination of material requirements from project plans and specifications
Evaluate and set project safety, production, quality goals
Coordinate and execute Daily and Weekly Plans
Understand and monitor jobsite budgets
Perform jobsite quality control checks
Ensure efficiency and quality assurance
Assess jobsite productivity, quality, safety, and scheduling of manpower and equipment
Review equipment and manpower to maximize project efficiency
Ensure project progress meets client expectations
Maintain strict construction schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met
Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
Report and escalate to management as needed
Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Requirements
At least Four (4) or more years’ experience with heavy civil projects; paving, asphalt paving, site work, site construction industry
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
