Engineering Technician - Low Voltage Controllers Design and Test
Full Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to help develop and continuously improve products. Our Engineering Technicians work side by side with engineers to validate our world class products, iterate product and test designs, and push the boundaries of our products functionality and reliability. This work requires you to be extremely detail oriented, hold your work to the highest quality standards, and have the engineering drive to perpetually innovate. Projects are open ended and often with limited up front guidance. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in electronics and testing. Must be a self-starter and able to figure out how to do things.
Responsibilities:
Work with engineers to build, install and maintain low voltage (12V) test equipment.
Trial components in test equipment via soldering, crimping, and wiring.
Root cause and report issues: Document and report issues identified during test or inspections.
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve mechanical & electrical issues discovered.
Provide detailed written & verbal test status updates to key stakeholders.
Collect hardware parts and ship equipment if necessary.
Maintaining a lab, ensuring that it is well-stocked with the tools and materials needed to make the required test equipment.
A wide variety of other technician tasks, supporting the engineering team as needed.
Requirements:
Experience as an Engineering Technician or 3 years as a Service or Manufacturing technician.
Basic understanding of electronics and design best practice.
Work experience in technology or automotive industry preferred.
Familiar and comfortable with soldering iron/tweezers, hot air, hand tools and some power tools.
Knowledge of machine shop practices a plus.
Analytical problem-solving skills & root cause analysis.
Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required.
