Description

The Lead, Network Engineer designs, analyzes, plans and modifies network components supporting customer communication implementation activities. The Lead, Network Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Lead, Network Engineer develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods. Prepares the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies. Develops alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities. Conducts economic and population growth studies to determine impact on network capacity and development plan projections. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for design and implementation of connectivity from Humana to the Cloud. The engineers will work on various projects to enable secure cloud connections. Experience with Equinix Co-location configuration is preferred. Working knowledge of Network configuration in Azure, AWS and GCP is required. Must have experience with BGP and other routing protocols. Data Center infrastructure configuration, deployment and troubleshooting is required. The Lead Network Engineer will partner with Lead Engineering resources in peer groups such as Cloud Platforms, Data Center Infrastructure and delivery to deploy network designs and is expected to contribute to design work overall. Must have a strong understanding of traditional infrastructure and how it interconnects and interrelates to the Cloud. Must be able to work independently and drive projects to completion. Mentoring junior team members is a required. Must be able to develop comprehensive network architecture that provides network services and solutions to infrastructure and application teams. An understanding of the Agile methodology is preferred. Azure DevOps experience is preferred.

Required Qualifications


a Bachelor's degree

8 or more years of technical experience

2 or more years of project leadership experience

The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for design and implementation of connectivity from Humana to the Cloud.

Working knowledge of Network configuration in Azure OR AWS OR GCP is required.

Must have a strong understanding of traditional infrastructure and how it interconnects and interrelates to the Cloud.

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


An understanding of the Agile methodology is preferred. Azure DevOps experience is preferred.

Experience with Equinix Co-location configuration is preferred.
