If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.\n\n \n\nMechanical Maintenance Engineer \n\n \nYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n \n\nThe primary responsibilities of this role, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, are to:  \n\n \n\n\n\tResponsibilities include, but are not limited to the following\n\n\t\n\t\tDaily Maintenance: 50% of Time;\n\t\tMechanical Integrity: 20% of Time;\n\t\tEquipment Reliability: 10% of Time\n\t\tShutdown: 5% of Time;\n\t\tCost Management: 5% of Time;\n\t\tAdministrative Duties: 5% of Time;\n\t\tCompliance & Safety Related Activities: 5% of Time;\n\t\n\t\n\tDevelop Engineering work packages for optimization / improvement work;\n\tProvide technical support during execution of equipment repairs as needed;\n\tProvide technical support in the development of detailed job plans for equipment repairs/ PM's;\n\tDevelop repair plans for outside equipment repairs and validate are made to specifications at outside shops; \n\tPerform shop visits;\n\tFollow equipment overhauls/repairs;\n\tReview Condition Monitoring Test reports (by exception) and provide recommendations;\n\tMonitor trends for critical equipment and perform detailed equipment inspections as needed;\n\tParticipate/Support weekly Planning/Scheduling Meeting of complex jobs;\n\tProvide Technical support in the SIR process, Perform CMR activities on large scale projects; \n\tParticipate on Investigation teams (safety/reliability/near miss, etc.,) as needed;\n\tTrouble shoot difficult equipment problems – per escalation process;\n\tMonitor CREDO Soft for compliance;\n\tProvide technical support as needed on inspection/test execution;\n\tReview PSV Inspection reports and provide recommendations for reliability improvements;\n\tInvestigate failure modes for failed PSV tests with vendor;\n\tDevelop repair plan based on inspection findings;\n\tReview reports and provide recommendations on equipment inspection frequencies;\n\tEnsure proper maintenance / inspection strategy for area equipment based on history;\n\tProvide recommendations for Long Range Planning  (LRP) for equipment replacement refurbishment based on data;\n\tManage exceptions for past due equipment inspections;\n\tEnsure new equipment is entered in database (CREDO);\n\tPerform Failure Analysis, Monitor Equipment Performance Key Performance Indicators (KPI's);\n\tWork with area leadership and Reliability group to develop and execute; \n\tManage Area Reliability Plan, Conduct Area Reliability Meetings;\n\tDevelop and support the implementation of reliability improvement Projects;\n\tProvide technical support with the development of Shutdown Work Scope;\n\tProvide technical support during execution of critical S/D work Equipment costs analysis – Cost Bridges;\n\tTrack Reliability Cost Savings;\n\tManage the proper turnover of implemented control strategies to the Customer such as proper documentation and training of area personnel and follow-up for debugging/refinement;\n\tTake a lead role in managing the long term reliability efforts for the plant process systems, including reliability tracking through Emerson Account Management Strategy Segment (AMS)/GE Meridium and others;\n\tPromote Plant and Area’s safety initiatives (EmPart, Behavior Base Safety, and Unit compliance, etc.).\n\n\n \n\nWHO YOU ARE\n\n \n\nYour success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\n\n \n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n \n\n\n\tBachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering with at least four years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in manufacturing or a related field, OR a Master's of Science in Engineering;\n\tPerform work in a manufacturing plant environment, including ascending/descending stairs and ladders;\n\tMust be available to respond to calls on off-hours, nights, weekends, and holidays (infrequently, but as needed);\n\tComputer proficiency in Windows passed programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);\n\tCritical Competences/Skills;\n\tDemonstrate exceptional safety leadership and strong safety ethic;\n\tAbility to lead a diverse workforce;\n\tPossess delegation, leadership and influencing skills;\n\tUnderstanding of the plant culture and business direction;\n\tPosses very Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Email, Internet, etc).\n\n\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t \n\t\t\t \n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\tYOUR APPLICATION\n\t\t\t \n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t \n\t\t\t \n\t\t\n\t\n\n\n\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tBayer offers a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
