Profile

MTR has been developing an innovative membrane-based carbon capture process for more than a decade. We are now actively working to commercialize the technology and deploy our capture systems globally. The demand for
effective, affordable, large-scale capture solutions has never been higher. We need your help to grow our carbon capture technology into a successful business, and along the way, have an active role in helping to solve the climate crisis. In this position, you will evaluate prospective commercial applications and in doing so, will engage with senior level engineers, plant managers, and management at major corporations looking to reduce their carbon
emissions. You should be a confident, clear, and effective communicator with at least a general understanding of the carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) field, and be prepared to learn about CCUS technologies, market
trends and drivers.
Description
The Carbon Capture Process Engineer is primarily responsible for reviewing and assessing incoming inquires and developing budgetary quote estimates for our capture systems. You will be the primary point of contact for these inquires and will track, rank, and monitor the active leads and communicate their status to MTR staff and management. Other responsibilities include following the evolving and emerging CO2 capture landscape globally and to scout for opportunities. In performing this role, you will use process simulation software and will develop and scale process costs for typical applications including power plants and large industrial facilities (waste-to-energy, cement, refinery, etc.). This is a rapidly growing sector and we anticipate that this position will change and adapt accordingly. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate and motivated by our mission to deploy world-
class, large-scale carbon capture solutions.
Requirements
A BS or MS degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline is preferred but can be Mechanical or Environmental Engineering with proficiency in Chemical and Process Engineering.
Experience with process simulation software (i.e., CHEMCAD, Aspen, ProTreat, Symmetry or similar).
Familiar with common process design practices and “fluent” with related engineering elements (process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, instrument and controls, general arrangement of equipment, etc.).
Some industry experience (preferably 5 years or more) in a relevant field or job function.
Preferred Skills
The ability to analyze data, synthesize results, present findings at group meetings, and contribute to project reports.
Good time management with ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills are essential.
Critical thinking skills and strong attention to details.
Clear and effective written communications and reporting.
Ability to develop and deliver oral communications and presentations.
Ability to work well with cross-functional, diverse teams.
Salary
$110,100 to $122,300/yr., DOE
As a Federal Government Subcontractor, MTR is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled Employer
Covid-19 vaccinations are required
